There are Bon Iver comparisons, for good reason, but that sometimes cabin dwelling resident has never inspired a deep grá like Novo Amor is going to be party to. ‘Feels Gold’ is just perfect, emotional and immediate that builds through the stages to a climactic sigh. Taken from Ali Lacey’s recently released ‘Woodgate, NY’ EP this song will surely propel him and his beautiful falsetto to an large audience that has already embraced the aforementioned Iver and our own James Vincent McMorrow. That Lacey comes from Wales rather than Iceland (though he is signed to the Bergen based Brilliance Records) makes him all the more intriguing. Up to this point his work is all his own making as the EP was recorded in his home studio back home in the Valleys. You know how often you see men crying these days, well for once their blubbering could be justified on the back of Novo Amor’s gift. KD
