Ghost Culture – Guidecca

Ghost Culture

James Greenwood as Ghost Culture lives in the magical world that is co-inhabited by Daniel Avery (hardly surprising then that they both reside on the same London record label). The collective drone logic appears to be that the earlier pioneers had it worked out so why try and reinvent the wheel. And so Ghost Culture’s latest self-titled opus sets out to accumulate a set of raw ingredients that include amongst others Leftfield, Depeche Mode, New Order and at various points ‘Dare’ era Human League. The swirl created is always diverting with the momentum fracturing like bright sunlight on the shattered remains of a bathroom mirror. ‘Giudecca’ appears as the second track and is simply stunning, a distillation of old skool synths and sequences that’ll grab your Joe Bloggs by the scruff ““ not letting go until you are in the hynotic throes of freeform dancefloor expression.
