What an entirely spirited piece of music, a scattershot gathering of ideas and mismatched sounds that somehow conspire to eventually make like Blondie crossed with St. Etienne. In truth when it hits its stride this is generous pop that just keeps on giving, mostly down to the way it keeps circling on Lara Chedraoui’s array of chirping utterances and her way with whistleable melodies. Fantastic Belgian innovation hasn’t sounded this good since Deus. KH
