Jesse Jo Stark – Deadly Doll

What a sweeping piece of sensuality, dimly lit and it is not clear whether the love is reciprocated. Either way the joy of basking under that heavenly voice is a considerable one. This is post-Lana Del Ray, grown-up pop for adults who get quickly tired of the same old same old. There is immediacy (perhaps thanks to Jason Lytle of Grandaddy fame on production) but ‘Deadly Doll’ is flush with a freshness and a charming set of melodies to sustain us through the dark nights ahead.
