Must say I like Lo Talker’s plan of action but most of all I like the way the Athens, Georgia act go about executing it. ‘Don’t Hide That Light Pt. II’ is such an off-kilter psych piece of locomotion that never stands still and boasts a highlight in a chorus that sound familiar but utterly charming at the same time. Our kind of band in other words, drifting into MBV frazzled chord territory on occasion and reminding us of a whole host of 90’s acts that most will have forgotten but for whom lead man Andrew Shepard could be about to resurrect (Apples in Stereo for one, Rocketship for another). Lo Talker’s debut album ‘A Comedy of Errors’ is out now on Art & Crafts. KH
