What an impressive way to canter along, entrancing everyone who catches a second or two for there is a magnetism to the understated flow. It is as if ‘On Naming’ wanted a quiet corner all to itself but conjured a sound in the process that makes like reflection for sure, but also something that is akin to an indie update on ‘Don’t Give Up’ (Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel). So there was no other thing for it than to stand there in its quiet gaze and marvel at how much emotion can be summoned from such a demure work. KH
