From the word go this is a just a glorious mess of guitars, words and most probably hair for there is a scattershot approach but such is Chicago’s OK Cool’s way with a tune it all hangs together like a woken up shoegaze romp. There are just so many seams of delight to focus on, from the changing tempo, the honey pots filled with vocal melodies to the way the instrumental breaks just invite us into our own personal mosh pit no matter the location or company. ‘Self-Sow’ screams 90’s dreaminess to me, but we’ll take this depth of dreaminess no matter what the decade.
