Commuter – Light

There’s a storm coming but it wasn’t the kind of chord barrage that I was expecting, the off-kilterism new wave boosted by a singer who knows how to make off with our attention owing to his spiky words. It all feels like a sense of occasion and a great new young set of whippersnappers thrashing proceedings into a frenzy and I was particularly glad of the big instrumental breaks. Sounds like Athens (Greece) Commuter have come from a different time, when Gang of Four ruled the world, when music consumed us and we could look upon those who made it as heroes. Joyous frequencies.
