Diving At Dawn – Lying By Myself

I do like the percussion that ‘Lying By Myself’ give us, it feels rich but never distracting enough from the main prize in those vocals. Diving At Dawn operate with a minimalism but with a maximum in getting us feeling loved up without ever having to broach icky Valentine’s motivations. For all that there is romance here on a grand level, subtle but all adding up to something that whispers ‘be gentle on me’. Quiet reflection from Pete Hobbs with a melodic aspect that just has us issuing aaah’s with uncommon regularity. KH
