Messenger Hall – Heart Shaped Bruise

This Australian act always set themselves apart, falling into the category of band that will forever get our attention because along with all the thoroughly big noise is a constant attention to giving us a melodic hook to hang our hats on. ‘Heart Shaped Bruise’ could have been a country rock tune in other hands but Messenger Hall douse their highlights in the plume of noise that steers it clear of the widest possible audience. Yes they do channel Bradford Cox and for that we are most grateful as we need as many indie heroes in our life as we can get. KH
