False Hope For The Savage – Motherless Brooklyn

Oh I felt a post-rock track on the way, not least because the guitars were chiming like Explosions in the Sky used to do and we’d go all foggy eyed at their presence. You can probably tell I was a fan and ‘Motherless Brooklyn’ does have that vital component where we drop all the superficial behaviour and get with our internal selves. Such a powerful technique for an act to have in their armoury and this Welsh combo combine it with plenty Mogwai heft as the track changes gear for what was always going to be the big moment. It takes plenty of nuance to rewrite the instrumental rock genre but False Hope for the Savage have the ingenuity to pull off. KH
