A Beacon School – Mantra

Had me thinking Lower Dens, a band that were capable of this this kind of motorik but then for A Beacon School it is just one more splendid face of an act we can’t for the life of us find a weakness. In fact Patrick J. Smith started appearing on this blog back in the noughties with the Seascape so this has been one long aural romance. ‘Mantra’ pelts along like a locomotive, electric and swish and with moving parts that show no resistance. Just like the dreamy vocals that ride the effortless propulsion so that we are accorded a lift to our day, the wind at our back with faces in the soft glare of the morning sun. Yep, I was quite taken but the frequency of such eventualities means that A Beacon School have become one of our pillar act of 2023. KH
