Vast Robot Armies – Passengers

It might open like ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ by the Proclaimers but ‘Passengers’ has by the grace of God a whole lot more going for it. And what a heavy duty affair it is, percussion sending shudders around the room and riffs that only politely move away from thunderous to allow us to breath. Funny then that all I heard was the Wrens from their classic ‘Meadowlands’ LP and the obvious sense of tuneage. ‘Passengers’ is epic, akin to Doves at times and I love it for just been as loud as can be before dimming the lights and going all soft and melodic on us.
