Well this is a different way of going about things I have to say, inching forward but with an inevitable sense that something bigger is coming down the track. And when the vocals arrive it feels emotional as can be, like we are on the inside and about to be told about a matter of great import. Of course it reminds of Low but there is more than slowcore going on here, Mojave 3 also sprung to mind and with it all the emotional investment of their previous (and post) band Slowdive too. It gets you right in the guts but come the end it feels like Miki Yoshimura and Johannes Marx have restored some of that fire in the belly. KH
