La River Crossing – Make Things Better

Had me of a Teenage Fanclub state of mind and such thought processes are definitely ones to cherish so ‘Makes Things Better’ was as good as its word. Even more so when it introduced the jangling Byrds guitar effects and suddenly we were in full-on classic 90’s indie-rock territory. You could even see how fans of the Travelling Wilburys could be swung around to LA River Crossing’s sound because this is great song writing with a determinedly nostalgic bent, tender as can be and just encouraging us to change our daily mood setting as a result.
