You can tell there is an imagination firing from Denver’s Don Goblin, the sort of chord display that could only have come when the sparks of innovation are given free rein to propagate. ‘Rain’ manages to balance the sense of song with a quirky delivery at times, so we have the steady country rock but also periods of restless instrumental breaks where flights of fancy are allowed to permeate and in the process we get to an act letting that inner creativity fly. Sounds like a classic alt rock affair as a result with precipitation such as this common currency back in the glorious 90’s.KH
