It rather sparks into life in a manner that sounds like it has had some time alone with ancient electronics. Mechanical bleeps and creaks that sound otherworldly, or at least connecting modem inclined. What grounds us completely however is a singer who is every one of us, riffing on the unjust ways of romance and the death of it thereafter. ‘Not Ur Girlfriend’ is a sweet coming of age journal, done in a fashion where sweetness reigns supreme.
