Wolfschmidt – Whaler

A Gothenburg act that to a song have us opening our ears widely to their grandiose array of post-shoegaze effects. You can hear the tell-tale wounded chords and a pristine production means that every moving parts gets its time in the sun. That includes a singer who holds sway no matter how loud and cavernous the noise whips up all around. Makes for a lovely contrast and on headphones the scale of ‘Whaler’ becomes unavoidable. One of the great ones. KH
