Klaxons – The Bouncer

This one kicks like a mule. It may or may not provoke some hazy memories from the early nineties but it is fast becoming an entity all on its own as it staggers to a higher state of intensity than the original ever did. The Klaxons are new kids on the block and are single-handedly trying to re-ignite rave as a serious form of musical expression. One good way to achieve this is to dig up an old classic (which is primarily remembered for its ‘your name’s not down, you’re not coming in’ line), sprinkle on some youthful insouciance and you have a potentially massive hit on your hands. Ok, ‘The Bouncer’ would seem odd at any time of the week besides a Friday or Saturday night but in this role it is a truly outrageous piece of craft.
