Fanfarlo may be from London but met while hiding in a forest during a wintry outburst. Every time we look they appear to be making the sort of music that quickly has us swooning. ‘I’m A Pilot’ continues their impressive progression even if it sounds (initially at least) like a retread through the same snow (slightly more crystallised) that Sigur Ros used circa Glósóli. This time the Fanfarlo sound is augmented by strings so as well as boasting the best choruses in indiedom they now have the grandeur to impress your normally less than impressed friends. All told it’s a super precursor to the bands upcoming debut album ‘Reservoir’ which will be available from their website in the next few weeks. Now they’ve got the pilot watch them skyrocket. KD
