November 10th 2007, Paddy’s day 2008 and 20th January just gone are all important dates in the annals of this blog because they precisely mark the occasions when we’ve posted tracks by Slushco. The Atlanta act is one of a handful that can be relied upon to bring a smile to our ears. And things got a whole lot when ‘The Silver Surface Demos’ proved to be absolutely faultless. ‘Astronaut’ made the inaugural indiecater comp and is probably the purest exponent of indie pop on the record. But there is so much more to enjoy over the 7 dollops of ingenuity. Brian Slusher has become adept at those awkward shifts in momentum that characterise his songs but despite the skewed dynamics pure melody remains the vital ingredient.
