Canasta – Slow Down Chicago (Boo Boo Allá Remix)
Canasta have a song running through their back catalogue like a pleasant smell. It’s called ‘Slow Down Chicago’ and first appeared on their debut EP back in 2003. Can’t keep a good thing down especially when it receives impressive makeovers by other classy combo’s. In this case it is fellow Chicago group Allá who’ve committed a root and branch overhaul and the result is a free standing piece of glitchy electronica that surpasses the original. In fact the old and the new are at such right angles it would take an in-depth sonic autopsy to the identify a similar gene pool. Allá have created a ghostly apparition but one that emotes a brand new form of chill. KD
