Blood Music – There Is A War In Almost Every Corner

Anyone else notice how a lot of the songs appearing here recently have extremely long titles? And in a curious extension of said phenomenon here is another mammoth worded ditty that you can whistle along to. It’s a pretty ditty in fact, from a Swedish artist called Karl-Jonas Winqvist who paddles the Blood Music entity all on his own. Just because it is a one man show doesn’t mean the sound feels ghost town like however, Winqvist manages to fill ‘There Is a War in Almost Every Corner’ with all manner of exotic noises. His voice has gravitas too, having an intonation as impressive as Midlake’s Tim Smith which means you’ll more than likely hang on his every word. The piece closes as the singer flirts with a female backing vocalist creating a dreamy partnership to put an impressive seal on a near perfect song. KD
