Forget for one minute that this is an indie emporium. You see there was a time around the turn of the century when I wandered from the chosen path, to a place where the thrills were much easier and suited to copious saturday night consumption. The promised land was called Gatecrasher and it’s ruler more often than not came from a european country more recognised for its footballers than its music output. It’s shocking to look back but this evening by the coincidence that is mediamonkey’s shuffle mode this behemoth hoved into earshot. Without warning I made like it was 1999 and it took the intervention of the baby’s startled cries to kick me back me into the reality that is adulthood. Can’t say I miss those days but boy were they fun. KD
