Quickspace – A Rose

Wiki pages were meant for bands like Quickspace Supersport (we like the appendage despite its disappearance on later Quickspace incarnations) who have had a revolving cast of players since their inception in the mid-nineties (there’s never been a statement to say they are no more so there may well be more). ‘They Shoot Horses Don’t They’ has been a play count augmenter for a long time but every now and then something else twigs our attention from the London collective. ‘A Rose’ is taken from the same 2000 album ‘The Death of Quickspace’ and features Nina Pascale on vocals who manages to keep the bands manic edge in check. Not that Tom Cullinan’s parts are any less nutty, sounding as if he’s just walked out of an all-dayer with the Happy Monday’s he certainly distinguishes the piece. Restores your faith if not entirely healing it. KD
