A Beacon School have appeared on this site in various different guises over the last couple of years. Firstly there was the Seascape, an precocious indie act with orchestral leanings and then Midi & The Modern Dance won our hearts with their superior brand of heartfelt ditties. Pieces of both acts can now be found in A Beacon School, a decidely lo-fi affair which nonetheless shows as much promise as what proceeded it. ‘Follow’ is one of two demo songs from the band and was put together during breaks in their schooling in NYC. This has a real C86 ring to it and puts the lack of production svelte to one side delivering good old fashioned jangle pop. Shelflife Records might be intrigued I’m sure. KD
