Yes this is different, a departure from our usual indie diet of emboldened chords and harmonies somewhere there but just out of reach. But good music is good music and though ‘Stroll’ might have been conceived and recorded in a toy filled child’s bedroom the songwriting is stellar and LA’s Charlyne Yi and Lem Jay show that they have a natural appreciation on what it takes to have us swaying to their bounty of loveliness. Yep, this is perhaps the happiest song we’ve heard all year, but also the one we want to sing together while holding hands and dreaming of a time when the world will be a much kinder place to be for all of us.
