Martha Rose – Chin Up

‘Chin Up’ does have such an organic folk quality alright, the sweetest of vocals on top to add to the air of tenderness swelling up all around. This is a few minutes of encouragement and a friend to all who have nowhere left to turn. With its stripped back momentum this is getting music back to its roots, nothing overegged and a force for changing the mood du jour. Belle & Sebastian were doing this circa ‘Tigermil’k and we love that and much more about ‘Chin Up’ from this Berlin based chanteuse. KH
